OREANDA-NEWS. Russian citizens are subjected to improper treatment by the Israeli authorities during a check in the arrival area at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov, commenting on the increasing number of refusing entry for Russians.

“We are disturbed by the fact that sometimes these citizens are subjected to improper treatment by the authorities at the airport during these checks. They are detained for a long time, without explanation, their documents and mobile phones are checked, sometimes this happens in tight rooms, sometimes there is no water or food,” the diplomat told reporters.

He mentioned that in 2019, almost 6 thousand Russians who arrived in Israel were not allowed to enter the country. At the same time, according to the Israeli migration service, 14 thousand Russians are living in the territory of the state without legal grounds. The foreign ministries of Russia and Israel are making efforts to solve the problem.
