OREANDA-NEWS The average cost of insurance for emergency situations will be about 200 rubles. This figure was named by the president of the Russian Union of Insurers Igor Yurgens. 

“Home insurance under the regional program will cost approximately 150–200 rubles per month, or 1800–2400 rubles per year,” Yurgens said. 

In Russia, on August 4, a law on emergency insurance of housing comes into force. However, the rules will apply to regions where home insurance programs have already been developed. The authorities must determine a list of specific risks relevant to the subject of the Russian Federation: from floods to fires and earthquakes. 

So far, the law will enter into force in fourteen regions: Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Tver, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Belgorod and Omsk Regions, as well as Trans-Baikal, Perm, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar and Khabarovsk Territories. 

Insurance will be voluntary.
