OREANDA-NEWS. The Armenian government has announced quarantine throughout the country. The regime will be introduced from 17:00 local time (13:00 UTC) of September 11 and will last until January 11, 2021.

Under the terms of quarantine, all residents of Armenia must carry identity documents with them. Mass events are allowed with a number of no more than 60 people, and meetings and rallies with a distance of 1.5 metres between participants. The entry of foreigners into Armenia along land borders is prohibited, with the exception of diplomats, close relatives of the deceased and persons working in international cargo transportation.

Quarantine in Armenia replaces the state of emergency which was announced on March 16. The country’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan was appointed commandant of the state of emergency; it gave him the right to stop public transport and insist on observation of self-isolation.
