OREANDA-NEWS. Last night, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan struck with cluster munitions on the city of Stepanakert, capital of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported on November 9 by the unified information center under the Armenian cabinet of ministers on Facebook.

After midnight, the enemy fired several long-range cluster missiles in the direction of Stepanakert, damaging the civilian infrastructure, the statement says. According to preliminary data, no civilians were injured as a result of the shelling. It is also noted that in other settlements of the republic, the night passed relatively calmly.

On Sunday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the country’s army took control of the city of Shusha in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the politician, the city was “liberated from the occupation.”

At the same time, the Armenian Defense Ministry denied this statement, adding that the fighting in the area of Shusha continues.
