OREANDA-NEWS. The Government's objective is to offer fair pension remuneration aimed to provide an appropriate level of security retirement benefits for the Ukrainian citizens and to overcome the Pension Fund’s deficit. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of TV channel "1+1" on Thursday evening, May 19.

"Our task will be to offer the Ukrainian society a system that will establish a fair pension coverage, so that an average Ukrainian citizen could benefit from that", said Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government stressed that the pension system in Ukraine has a lot of flaws. So, the current deficit of the Pension Fund amounts to UAH 145 billion and this figure will grow on annual basis. "Time will come when the deficit of the Pension Fund is enormous," said the Prime Minister.

"The Pension Fund’s shortage makes up UAH 145 billion. Despite the fact that most seniors live on a minimum pension. Who is satisfied? I think none of us", urged the Head of Government. “Hence, it's not an issue for the IMF to deal with, it is the problem of Ukraine. This is how the Ukrainian citizens will live when retire", stressed the Prime Minister.
