National Bank of Ukraine Gives its Approval to Mr Bolat Nazarbaiev for the Acquisition of 50% Stake in Eurobank
OREANDA-NEWS. The National Bank of Ukraine has given its approval to a Kazakh national, Mr Bolat Nazarbaiev, for the acquisition of a direct qualifying holding equal to 50% in Eurobank. The decision to this effect was taken by the Committee on Banking Supervision, Regulation, and Payment System Oversight (Decision No. 247 of 18 May 2016).
As of 20 May 2015, 50% of the bank's shares are held by Consulting Firm "Finance Analyt Service" LLC, whose ultimate beneficial owner is Mr Oleksandr Adarich, with the other 50 per cent of the shares being held by Consulting Firm "Marketing Technologies" (ultimate banaficial owner - Mr Vadym Pushkariov).
Mr Bolat Nazarbaiev intends to acquire a stake in the bank held by Consulting Firm "Finance Analyt Service" LLC. Therefore, Mr Adarish will exit the bank’s ownership structure.
The documents submitted by another Kazakh national seeking to acquire the other 50 per cent of the shares in Eurobank are currently under consideration by the NBU. The decision to this effect is yet to be taken.
As of 1 April 2016, Eurobank PJSC ranks 47th by size of assets (UAH 1.7 billion) among other Ukrainian banks.
