OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Pavel Filip has thanked Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Marius Lazurca for dedication and efforts made during his mandate in Moldova, which lasted more than six years.

At a farewell meeting, the prime minister appreciated the high quality of the work of the Romanian diplomat, to give an impetus to the friendship relations between the two countries and the assistance provided to back Moldova’s European integration.   

“The bilateral political dialogue and the work of inter-governmental mechanisms, meant to effectively contribute to deepening the cooperation between our countries, have acquired an unprecedented intensity during your mandate. I express gratitude for the valuable support Romania is generously providing to Moldova, to back policies of development and reforms,” Pavel Filip said.   

For his part, Marius Lazurca urged the Moldovan cabinet to continue implementing the priority reforms and the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. The Romanian ambassador have assurances that the Bucharest authorities would further support Moldova’s modernization and creating optimum living conditions for its citizens.  

At the meeting, the two officials exchanged opinions on prospects for deepening the bilateral ties, implementing joint projects, as well as on cooperation within regional and international structures.  

At the same time, the discussions were focused on the projects carried out in Moldova with the support of the Romanian government, including the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, as well as providing medical assistance through the Romanian Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD).
