OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas offered his condolences to the close ones of the victims, and to the French people in the event of the terrorist attack that took place in Nice yesterday.

“The French celebrated Bastille Day yesterday - enjoying liberty, equality, and fraternity all over the country, including the city of Nice,” Prime Minister Rõivas said. “The attack was a cruel and cowardly crime against innocent and peaceful people on a day of celebration in France.”

“The thoughts of the Estonian people are with the French and all those affected by the attack. We cannot succumb to terrorism. We have to hold in high regard the European values that the attack was aimed at,” Rõivas emphasised.

Prime Minister Rõivas wishes a speedy recovery to all those hurt in the attack.
