OREANDA-NEWS. Azerbaijan’s military aircraft was not shot down in Nagorno-Karabakh, the information about a loss of an airplane is being disseminated by Armenia for the purpose of disinformation. This was reported by Colonel Vagif Dargahli, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

“The message spread by the Armenian side about the downed plane of the Air Force of Azerbaijan in the evening is a lie and disinformation,” the officer told RBC news agency. According to Dargahli, all aircrafts of the Azerbaijani army remain in service.

Earlier, the press secretary of the head of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Vahram Poghosyan, informed that Azerbaijani combat aircraft was shot down near the town of Martuni.

RIA Novosti, referring to the press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, specified that the single-engine biplane An-2 was brought down. Data from open sources does not confirm that this model is used in the Azerbaijani Air Force.
