OREANDA-NEWS. The British royal family will receive a warm welcome in Crimea, Yuri Gempel, head of the Crimean parliament's committee on people's diplomacy and interethnic relations, told RIA Novosti.

"Crimea is open to everyone, including members of the British royal family. They will be welcomed here and shown all the beauty of the peninsula. They will be delighted with the Russian Crimea," he said.

According to the parliamentarian, in recent years, the opinion of the peninsula has changed significantly in the world, which the world community now perceives as the original Russian land and an integral part of Russia.

On the eve it became known that schoolchildren from the Sevastopol Small Academy of Sciences received from the British royal court a response to a letter that they wrote to Elizabeth II in the summer. In response, the maid of honor Philippe de Pass noted that the queen was glad to learn about the interest of Russian children in the English language. At the same time, the address on the envelope said: "Sevastopol. Russia".

Now the schoolchildren are going to write to other members of the British royal family - Prince William and Kate Middleton, and also invite them to Crimea.
