“The departments responsible for the economy and trade of the two countries plan to sign a document on the study and compilation of a roadmap on the high-quality development of bilateral trade until 2024. As I explained, after reaching the 100 billion figure last year, we plan to bring the turnover to $ 200 billion. A roadmap will be drawn up, which will spell out specific measures to achieve the target level of $ 200 billion", the deputy foreign minister of the PRC said.

During the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia in June this year, the parties reached an agreement to promote the growth of bilateral trade to $ 200 billion by 2024. In 2018, trade between the Russian Federation and the PRC increased by 27.1% in annual terms and exceeded $ 107 billion. China and Russia also plan to sign a series of cooperation agreements. "I can’t name specific agreements, because they are still being negotiated. Among them are agreements on trade, economic cooperation, aviation and space, infrastructure, agriculture, science and innovation", said Le Yucheng.
