OREANDA-NEWS. The situation with coronavirus infection COVID-19 has worsened in Ukraine, an anti-death record has been set since the beginning of the pandemic. This was announced by the country's Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov.

Earlier on March 23, Stepanov said that 11,476 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine, 2,519 people were hospitalized, 333 deaths, 8044 people recovered.

During a daily briefing, the Minister of Health admitted that the situation with the spread of COVID-19 in Ukraine is worsening. He noted that Ukraine is still facing a very difficult period. Today, such an anti-record has been set in the country regarding the number of deaths; for the first time in the country, this number exceeded 300 people.

The average occupancy of hospital beds with oxygen is 55% across the country, but in some regions, in particular in Kiev, the occupancy is significantly higher and "causes great concern."

The Minister of Health noted that the situation remains tense in the western regions: in the Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. According to Stepanov, "Lviv region has exceeded the rates of entering the highest" red "quarantine zone. The" British strain "of coronavirus is widespread throughout the country.
