OREANDA-NEWS. The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control has summed up the results of coronavirus infections in the European Union over the past 14 days. Leaders in mortality per 100 thousand of population are the following: Czech Republic (23.4), Belgium (22.1), Bulgaria (17.2), Poland (14.3), and Slovenia (14.0).

In recent weeks, the Czech Republic has left the first place among the EU countries in terms of the number of new COVID-19 patients registered per day. At the same time, the country remains the leader in the EU according to the results of the last 14 days in terms of the number of deaths from coronavirus per 100 thousand people, the Czech Ministry of Health reported.

More than 490 thousand coronavirus infections have been registered in the Czech Republic. 7.2 thousand people died, 395 thousand patients recovered. Over the past day, 3.2 thousand cases were detected, which is five times less than a record set at the end of October.
