OREANDA-NEWS. Deliveries of fresh Syrian fruits and olive oil to the Crimea should begin in October, the corresponding contract has already been concluded. This was announced in an interview with Russian media by the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov.

"The first consignments of goods were successfully shipped by sea in March, in particular, grain. Contracts were signed for the supply of fresh fruits to the Crimea in October - lemons, oranges, grapefruits, pomegranates - as well as olive oil. The parameters and terms for deliveries of corn are being worked out, soybeans, fine coal. Syrian products successfully withstand price competition with world suppliers, while significantly differing in quality for the better", said Aksyonov.

He added that Crimean enterprises are ready to supply railroad turnouts for Syria, welding machines and building power tools, equipment for the oil and gas industry, plastic pipes and other products. Shipbuilding enterprises are also ready to implement projects commissioned by Syrian companies. At the same time, Aksyonov said, flights between the Crimea and Syria aren't planned to be launched yet, since there won't be sufficient passenger flow now, but in the future it is important for the development of the region.
