OREANDA-NEWS Driving licenses may become electronic in the future. This was announced by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Construction Yevgeny Moskvichev.

The parliamentarian explained that the subprogramme on digitization in transport will be implemented within the framework of the national project "Digital Economy". In his opinion, electronic rights should be included in this program. Moskvichev also expressed the opinion that such certificates will be convenient for drivers.

In turn, the first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, Vyacheslav Lysakov, noted that in many countries there is a single card that serves as an identity card, and personal data, in particular, bank details and credit history, are also entered on it. As part of the digitalization process, as the deputy added, a roadmap for creating such documents should appear.
