OREANDA-NEWS. A regional emergency regime was introduced in Crimea due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the east of the peninsula; funds from the reserve fund will be allocated to eliminate the consequences. The head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov told reporters about it.

"A decision has been made to create a commission to eliminate emergency situations, emergency situations of a regional scale have already been announced. All finances from the reserve fund will be allocated in full," Aksenov said.

Heavy rains went all night on Thursday in the east of the peninsula, during the night in Kerch and the surrounding areas, almost two monthly rainfall rates (82 millimeters) fell, the rain continues there. Again (after the first flooding on June 7) the village of Priozernoye in the Kerch region was flooded. The central streets of Kerch are flooded as a result of heavy rainfall and overflowing the banks of the Melek-Chesme River, part of the city is de-energized, and water supply is partially lacking. More than 100 transformer substations were emergency shutdown in Crimea due to breaks and damage to power lines, flooding of power facilities, the power industry of Crimea switched to a special mode of operation.

The operational headquarters under the leadership of the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov previously introduced an inter-municipal emergency in the east of Crimea due to flooding provoked by heavy rainfall in five municipalities.
