OREANDA-NEWS Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kiev for a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. As the "Observer" told, the Turkish President greeted the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the slogan "Glory to Ukraine".

In addition to a personal meeting, Erdogan and Zelensky will also hold a high-level Strategic Council meeting in Kiev.

"I hope that the meetings will lead to favorable results both for the countries and for the entire region. In recent years, we have made significant progress in our relations with Ukraine in the field of trade, investment, tourism and defense industry," the Turkish president said.

He stressed that Ankara is monitoring the challenges faced by Ukraine and the tension in the region.

"Turkey, as a Black Sea country, calls on all sides for restraint and dialogue to maintain peace in the region. It is clear that the conflict must be resolved peacefully and in accordance with international law," Erdogan said.

Turkish Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalyn said earlier that Ankara is ready to organize a dialogue between the heads of Russia and Ukraine. He noted that Turkey has good relations with both countries, so it can become a platform for negotiations.
