OREANDA-NEWS. Sanctions will be imposed not only against individuals, but also against government agencies, companies and entrepreneurs, said the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell.

Borrell stressed that he will do everything possible to ensure that new restrictive measures are introduced as soon as possible. He said that he had prepared a special report on relations with this country. “The Council asked me to present a broad approach to our relations with Belarus. I did it in agreement with the services of the European Commission. This report was finalized and presented to the member states, who will study it and make a decision on it,” Borrell said.

Earlier, the EU introduced two blocks of sanctions, blacklisting 55 representatives of the country's leadership, including President Alexander Lukashenko. They are banned from entering the EU, their accounts in European banks are subject to freezing.
