OREANDA-NEWS The Kyrgyz authorities are developing a state program "Green Kyrgyzstan", under which every citizen is obliged to plant at least 10 trees. This was stated by the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Dinara Kutmatova at a press conference.

According to her, by spring, experts will determine how many seedlings, in which area and when exactly it will be necessary to plant.

The high-ranking official noted that the government intends to attract those Kyrgyzstanis who live abroad to finance the greening project.

The minister also said that earlier the President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree that about 70 million trees should be planted in the republic by 2030.

On November 1, 2021, the Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Janybekov announced that in 2021, farmers in Kyrgyzstan grew a crop that amounted to only 65% of the planned. According to a high-ranking official, this situation has developed due to an acute shortage of water for watering fields with crops, which arose due to another low-water period. The Minister recommended farmers to carry out autumn pre-tillage watering. Dzhanybekov also noted that the situation with the provision of animal feed in the country also leaves much to be desired.
