OREANDA-NEWSThe position of the Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky on a settlement in the Donbass is not taken into account in Moscow. This point of view was expressed to the Russian media on Wednesday by the director of the Center for Political Conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov.

Earlier, Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky said in an interview with the media that the Minsk agreements don't work, since they also concern the Ukrainian constitution. According to him, it's necessary to change the text of the agreements and remove from them any mention of changes to the main law of the country.

“Kolomoisky, apparently, is new to the text of the Minsk agreements. The paragraph on constitutional amendments on the special status of certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions is one of the basic ones in this document. Without such amendments, the Minsk agreements won't have the necessary legal basis. Let Kolomoisky once again he will carefully re-read the Minsk agreements, then he will understand that all the points in them are closely linked", said Chesnakov.

He noted that, for example, control in the Donbass over the state border by the Ukrainian government can only come after the constitutional reform regarding the special status of Donbass is completed, moreover, agreed upon with representatives of the Donbass itself. On the issue of resolving the conflict in the region, the expert continued, the entire world community proceeds from the full and comprehensive implementation of the Minsk agreements. For this, there is a decision of the UN Security Council. Guarantor countries (Russia, France, Germany), the European Union, and the United States are calling for this.

There is only one way to end the conflict. The president and the government of Ukraine must fully implement the Minsk agreements", summed up the director of the Center for Political Conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov.
