OREANDA-NEWS. Specialists of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation compiled a rating of Russian cities by quality of life. The list was published on November 26.

The rating was based on the opinion of at least 600 local residents. Respondents were asked to evaluate the work of the services responsible for road quality and traffic safety, the development of education and culture, the condition of the housing stock and city improvement, the work of local authorities, the quality of public health services, and also to give an overall assessment. The final rating was based on the ratings for each item. “The samples used are representative and fully reflect the socio-demographic profile of the population in the cities examined,” the report of the Financial University says.

The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan Kazan gained the first place in the quality of life. It is followed by the capital of Chechen Republic Grozny (which became a leader in two categories: city improvement and work of local authorities) and Tyumen (the capital of the region of the same name).

Krasnodar, Moscow and Saint Petersburg rank after the first three. In particular, the capital of Russia took first place in the ranking in terms of culture and education.

The top ten also includes Irkutsk, Sevastopol (the leader in terms of health services), Ufa and Kemerovo.

In total, the list consists of 78 cities with a population of over 250 thousand people. The last two places are occupied by Makhachkala and Ulan-Ude.
