OREANDA-NEWS. RBC information agency reports that in the first quarter of 2020, exports from Russia under the SSSS code decreased by 36 % compared with the same period a year ago, from 2.5 billion to 1.6 billion US dollars.

This follows from the database of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, which was analyzed by journalists. They point out that SSSS deliveries approximately correspond to arms exports: under this code the supplies of weapons and ammunition, aircrafts (both military and civil aviation), warships, tanks and other armoured vehicles, as well as some nuclear materials are registered.

In particular, exports to Egypt decreased on an annualized basis from 871 million to 93 million dollars, to Algeria – from 367 million to 143 million, to China – from 207 million to 25 million, to Saudi Arabia – from 230 million to less than 0,1 million dollars.

At the same time, SSSS exports to Serbia significantly increased (from 0.9 million to 184 million dollars), as well as supplies to Sri Lanka (from 0.8 million to 112 million) and to the United Arab Emirates (from 4 million to 274 million dollars).
