OREANDA-NEWSThe North Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the former Russian Defense Ministry officer Denis Khisamov, detained by officers of the FSB of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory, to 19 years in a strict regime colony for participating in the Islamic State terrorist organization, (ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation).

"Denis Khisamov is found guilty and sentenced for multiple offenses in view of the sentence of the Suzdal court in the form of 19 years’ imprisonment with a maximum security prison sentence and one year of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the military rank of captain of the reserve " judge.

The case was filed and investigated by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory. Also, the staff of the department conducted operational support of all phases of the investigation.From the case materials: Khisamov admitted that from 2015 to 2016 he participated in 10 operations on the IG side in Syria. During the operation with his participation in the seizure of the settlement of Er-Ray, about eight people were killed in the blast, 13 were injured. He also confessed that he took part in reprisals, killing four people.

The police detained Khisamov in Turkey in April 2017, for using fake documents he was taken to a center for holding foreign citizens. In August 2017, riots took place in the center, Khisamov received serious injuries, was deported to Tajikistan, from where he was later transferred to the Russian side. He admitted that he was undergoing military, sabotage and ideological training for IS recruits in the city of Rakka, after which he was included in the “Muhadzhirin Kavkaz” cell of about 300 people.
