FSB Prevented a Terrorist Attack in Crimea
OREANDA-NEWS. The press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) reported that the officers of the law enforcement agency had prevented a terrorist attack in the city of Simferopol (Republic of Crimea).
It is known that the action was prepared by five people. All detainees are citizens of the Russian Federation. According to the FSB, they planned to activate a makeshift explosive device in one of the city’s markets, and also “propagated the ideology of terrorism and extremism on the Internet”. Homemade bombs, small arms and cold weapons were confiscated from suspects.
The FSB specified that the detainees are connected with representatives of the radical Ukrainian forces fighting in the Donbass territories.
Currently, the issue of initiating a criminal case on preparation for a terrorist attack and public calls for terrorism is being considered.
