OREANDA-NEWS. Today, a trial took place in St. Petersburg, in which the fate of the historian Sokolov was decided. He was found guilty of the murder of his student Anastasia Yeshchenko, who had been his girlfriend for over four years.
For many years he was an associate professor at St. Petersburg State University and had no signs of crime in his personal file.

Recall that female body parts and a pistol were found in Sokolov's backpack. A corpse was found in his apartment by the police, which finally proved the historian's involvement in the murder. He admitted guilt and assures that he is ready to bear responsibility for what he did.

The terms of serving the sentence in prison are still unknown.
