OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow investigators are investigating the circumstances of the shooting with victims in the multifunctional center (MFC) on Ryazansky Prospekt, said Yulia Ivanova, spokesman for the Moscow headquarters of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (TFR).

“On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder) and Article 222 (illegal arms trafficking),” Ivanova told reporters on Tuesday.

She noted that the detainee would be brought in for interrogation in the near future. "At the scene of the incident, forensic investigators and the head of the State Investigation Directorate are working," added Ivanova.

For her part, the representative of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office Lyudmila Nefedova said that the supervisory authority put the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case under control.

Earlier it was reported that law enforcement officers detained a man who opened fire at the MFC in the southeast of Moscow.

An informed source told Interfax that the detainee would be checked by psychiatrists. "A comprehensive psychological and psychiatric examination will be appointed," the source said.

The source also said that the detainee, according to preliminary data, is in an inadequate condition.

"The detainee behaves inadequately, is aggressive, actively resists. Perhaps he is in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication," said the agency's interlocutor. According to the source, the detainee will have to undergo a narcological examination.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that as a result of the shooting at the Ryazansky MFC, two people were killed and three were injured.

According to an Interfax source, the shooting was caused by a conflict over the detainee's unwillingness to wear a mask. "According to preliminary data, the man entered the MFC and refused to put on the mask. Then the guard tried to escort him out. To which the man pulled out a pistol and started shooting," said the agency's interlocutor.
