OREANDA-NEWS The Russian General Chamber proposed creating digital profiles of taxi drivers, said member of the chamber Elena Sutormina. According to her, this will allow passengers to really assess their risks, RIA Novosti reports.

Sutormina referred to analysts, according to which about 700 thousand drivers work in Russia today, while more than a million people work in the informal sector in the informal sector.

According to the Moscow government in January 2019, 40% of legal taxi drivers in the capital are foreign citizens, mainly from the CIS countries. Sutormina noted that their driver’s licenses cannot be verified, which leads to a drop in the quality of services provided, the level of safety and an increase in the number of road accidents involving taxis.
