OREANDA-NEWS. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation brought to justice two Russian citizens for the attack on the Russian Embassy in Kiev, which occurred in March 2016. This was announced on October 28 by the press service of the agency.

“The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the investigation of the criminal case opened in connection with the attack in March 2016 on the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, brought to criminal responsibility two Russian citizens: Mikhail Agafonov and Irina Belacheu,” the report says.

The Investigative Committee noted that there is irrefutable evidence that in 2016 Agafonov, Belacheu and others took part in an anti-Russian action, during which its participants attacked on the Russian Embassy in Ukraine.

They were charged in absentia with committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 360 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attack on an institution enjoying international protection, committed in order to complicate relations between Russia and other state).
