OREANDA-NEWS. The Iraqi authorities began to create a mechanism for the withdrawal of foreign troops from the territory of the country. This was reported by the spokesman for the commander of the Armed Forces, Abdul Karim Khalaf.

According to him, the Iraqi government has limited the ground and air movement of the international coalition led by the United States and fighting against the terrorist organization Islamic State. Khalaf also pointed out that the mechanism prepared by the government includes aviation support issues. He stated that the airstrike of the US military, which killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, was a “stab in the back,” and all military operations in the country should be carried out only with the consent of Iraq.

A day earlier, the Iraqi parliament at an extraordinary meeting adopted a resolution that provides for the cancellation of the agreement with the international coalition and the cessation of any foreign military presence in the country.
