OREANDA-NEWSThe next meeting of the Russian-Swiss intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held in Russia in December this year. This is stated in the materials of the Kremlin press service for a meeting on Thursday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Swiss Confederation Uli Maurer.

This intergovernmental commission has been operating since 1994, its 19th session was held in Bern on December 4, 2018. "The next session is scheduled for December 2019 in Russia". the press release said. The Russian side is co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Mutko.

As indicated in the materials for the presidential talks, the trade between the two countries in 2018 reached $ 7.4 billion, an increase of 22% compared with 2017. According to the results of January - August 2019, the volume of bilateral trade amounted to $ 4.1 billion.  In the structure of Russian exports to Switzerland, the main share of deliveries falls to metals and products from them, mineral products, including fuel and oil, precious stones and precious metals, as well as products chemical industry. The basis of imports is chemical products, machinery, equipment and vehicles, food products and agricultural raw materials, metals and products from them.
