On May 25, Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Militia of the Republic Andrey Marochko stated that the forces of the People's Militia of the LPR and the Russian military took Severodonetsk into an operational encirclement.

This morning, the representative of the People's Militia, Ivan Filiponenko, said that the forces of the LPR continue to take control of the territories of the republic in the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk sector. So, the troops of the partially recognized republic took control of the urban-type settlement of Toshkovka in the Popasnyansky district, which the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine practically razed to the ground during the retreat.
