OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the United States and its allies unreliable partners. He stated this at a press conference following talks with his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

Lavrov said: "In key areas for the life support of the state, we cannot rely on the mood of the United States and on which foot they are getting up from in the morning."

He added that Washington's statements about its readiness to build a predictable relationship look unconvincing. The Russian minister explained: "We hear that now the official representative of the State Department made some statements that there will be sanctions, but the United States is interested in predictable and stable relations with Russia. The words do not sound convincing, we will wait for concrete actions."

The Joe Biden administration is considering new sanctions and the expulsion of Russian diplomats, Bloomberg reported. The reason for this is called the "malicious actions" attributed to Russia - a cyberattack on SolarWinds and interference in elections.

According to Lavrov, the United States has not yet announced any specific decisions, but Moscow will respond to any unfriendly steps.
