OREANDA-NEWS GOV.UK reports that The British government will send military experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The measure is aimed at strengthening the local NATO mission, as well as ensure stability and security in the country amid attempts from outside to stir up separatism and provoke violence there.

Two people will be sent - a military counter-disinformation expert and an adviser on civil strategic defense. The first will increase the ability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the NATO headquarters in the country to resist harmful influence, in particular, to help block the efforts of Russia and other countries to sow mistrust and undermine democracy in the region.

The strategy adviser will assist Sarajevo in developing a modern, representative military in accordance with NATO standards.

In addition, the UK will provide Bosnia and Herzegovina with £750,000 to set up a cybersecurity center at the University of Sarajevo. London is also ready to teach local journalists how to identify disinformation and mitigate its impact.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a federal state that includes the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (also known as the Muslim-Croat Federation) and the Republika Srpska. The leadership of the country is provided by a presidium consisting of three representatives of the main religious and ethnic groups - Bosnian Muslims, Catholic Croats and Orthodox Serbs. In addition, powers in the areas of foreign policy and defense are exercised at the federal level.
