OREANDA-NEWSThe European Union is considering the possibility of imposing sanctions on certain structures and several individuals in Russia and China due to the fact that they are allegedly involved in cyber attacks. This was reported on Wednesday by Bloomberg.

According to his diplomatic sources, representatives of EU countries intend to start a discussion of this opportunity this week. Consultations will first be held at the expert level. For the introduction of these sanctions, the consent of all EU countries is necessary. One of the agency’s sources said that consultations could last about two months. In relation to which individuals and legal entities sanctions may be imposed, the publication does not specify.

The agency notes that it will be difficult to obtain the consent of all EU countries, since the authorities of some of them do not want to harm relations with China or expect normalization of relations with the Russian Federation.
