Medvedchuk Recommended Zelensky to Negotiate with Putin
OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky should negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform — For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk on the First Independent TV channel.
According to him, the interest of the population of Ukraine is in peaceful coexistence with Russia, the establishment of trade and economic relations with Moscow and peace in the Donbass.
He also believes that the Ukrainian authorities are trying "in every possible way to prevent the establishment of relations with Russia." He called the economic relations between the two countries beneficial.
According to him, when establishing relations, utility tariffs could be reduced due to Russian gas supplies, sanctions would be lifted from Ukrainian enterprises whose goods, according to Medvedchuk, are competitive on the Russian market and in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
In October, the SBU stated that Medvedchuk participated in a conspiracy against Ukraine to undermine the country's energy security. According to the security forces, the businessman helped disrupt the supply of coal from abroad to organize illegal supply schemes from Donbass.
In Medvedchuk's party, the charges were called falsification and political reprisals to establish the dictatorship of Zelensky and his entourage.
On October 12, the Pechersk Court of Kiev considered the issue of choosing a preventive measure for Medvedchuk. As a result, the businessman was sent under house arrest until October 7.
