OREANDA-NEWS. The situation with the pandemic in Russia can be kept under control, in most regions it is stabilizing, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev recalled that everyone has been working in a pandemic for a year. According to him, in general, the situation can be kept under control. In most regions, it is currently stabilizing. Medvedev said this at the meeting "On the progress of work on the production and introduction of new vaccines against coronavirus infection COVID-19."

Medvedev recalled that a large-scale vaccination of citizens had begun, more than 3 thousand points were deployed for these purposes.

At the same time, he stressed that the key condition for success is, of course, ensuring the production of the vaccine in sufficient volume.

Medvedev noted that by the end of the first half of the year, it is planned to produce more than 90 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, and from the second half of the year, it is planned to release at least 18 million doses per month into civilian circulation.

Speaking about the second Russian vaccine EpiVacCorona, he stressed that it is important to determine what additional measures are needed in order to increase production volumes in a short time and release more than five million doses by the end of the first half of the year, and since June - at least 1.5 million doses per month.
