OREANDA-NEWS. German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the introduction of strict quarantine in Germany from December 16.

Lockdown will last until January 10, at this time retail stores will be closed, with the exception of grocery stores. Full-time education in schools will be terminated, and kindergartens will not work.

In addition to grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, banks and post offices will be opened. For the Christmas holidays, December 24–26, meetings with a maximum of five people are allowed, excluding children under 14 years.

From December 16 to January 10, it is allowed to visit churches, maintaining safe distance and wearing mask.

During the quarantine period, the authorities recommend to refuse to travel between lands of Germany.
