OREANDA-NEWS. State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov reacted to the news that journalist and blogger Yuri Dud was fined 100 thousand rubles for drug propaganda in his interview with blogger Ivangai and rap artist Morgenstern. His commentary is quoted by News.ru.

Milonov called the journalist a talented person, but at the same time noted that Dud should feel his responsibility. “100 thousand is too little punishment,” he stressed. According to the deputy, for the propaganda of drugs, especially with the use of the mass media, one should not be sentenced to fines, but to suspended sentences.

Milonov added that he does not consider the fine to the journalist a sign of attacks on the press. “Attacking the press is when a person is forbidden to speak. When a person begins to promote drugs, this is the protection of society from a scoundrel who, for the sake of the drug mafia, wants to persuade society and people to tolerate drugs, ”he explained.

Earlier it was reported that a Moscow court fined Dud 100 thousand rubles in a drug propaganda case in his interview with Ivangai and Morgenstern. The blogger's lawyer Ilnur Sharapov said that the court's decision is planned to be appealed.

At the end of July, the blogger asked to close the drug propaganda case due to the lack of corpus delicti. According to Dud, there were no signs of propaganda of illegal substances in his videos, as he urged people to refrain from using them.
