OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation proposes to make changes to the procedure for conducting preventive medical examinations of students in universities and technical schools in order to early detect the illegal consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

 In particular, it is proposed to include a mandatory analysis on opiates and cannabiodides, according to the bill, published on the federal portal of draft regulations on Monday.

 Thus, it was proposed to include in the examination a mandatory analysis of opiates, cannabiodides, amphetamine and methamphetamine, cocaine, methadone, synthetic cathinones, benzodiazepines, barbiturates.  If the psychiatrist-narcologist who conducts the examination suspects that the student is in a state of narcotic intoxication, the tests will be sent to the chemical and toxicology laboratory for a confirmatory test.

 The purpose of changing methods is to improve the procedure for determining the use of drugs by students.
