OREANDA-NEWSBelarus is counting on compensation for losses in the amount of about $ 70 million due to the incident with dirty Russian oil. This was stated by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko on Sunday following the talks between the Belarusian and Russian leaders in Sochi. “They are talking about a considerable amount - about $ 70 million should be compensation”, the Belarusian News Agency quoted him as saying. The issue of compensation was discussed at the talks between the heads of state, the ambassador said.

"It seemed to me that on December 6 at the meeting of the prime ministers this issue was resolved, and the Russian prime minister agreed that, for example, the Hungarian company MOL regulated with Transneft: for each barrel of dirty oil - compensation "$ 15," said Semashko. "That would suit us. But on Saturday, it already sounded somehow different".

According to the ambassador, this issue is completely solvable. “It’s just necessary to work“ Belneftekhim ”with our refineries a little more clearly and in detail. We need to formally set out what is required by law, as required by law - to state your complaints clearly and clearly", he said.
