OREANDA-NEWSOver 170 Russian citizens returned from the United Arab Emirates to the country with a charter flight organized by FlyDubai airline. The plane landed on Wednesday night at Makhachkala airport, the Russian media reported in the press service of the air harbor.

“The flight was carried out in order to return the citizens of the Russian Federation. All 176 passengers arriving on this flight will be required to undergo 14-day quarantine from the date of arrival in the Russian Federation to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus”, the airport representative said.

Since March 20, Russia has established a temporary restriction on passenger transportation from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in the opposite direction. An exception is made for charter flights that return home UAE citizens, and from the UAE to Russian citizens, until their full return.

The outbreak caused by the new coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of 2019 in Central China, later spreading to more than 150 countries and was recognized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic. According to the latest data, over 403 thousand people were infected in the world, more than 18 thousand deaths were recorded. In Russia, 658 cases of infection were recorded in 55 regions of the country.
