OREANDA-NEWS. More than half of the adult population of Ukraine declared their unwillingness to be vaccinated against coronavirus in the near future. These are the results of a sociological survey, said Andrey Sukharina, an analyst of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, at a press conference in Kiev, UNIAN reports.

According to him, the research data show the proportion of those vaccinated, which practically coincides with the official statistics - about 18 percent of the respondents. At the same time, the rate of vaccination may slow down.

“More than 56 percent of the country's adult population does not plan to be vaccinated in the near term. These indicators are one of the highest in the world and in comparison with neighboring states, where there are data from such surveys, ”- said in the results of the survey.

Earlier, the Kiev authorities reported on the vaccination of half of the townspeople from COVID-19. Vaccination was made by 50 percent of the official population of Kiev. 46 percent of them are vaccinated with two doses, said the director of the health department Valentina Ginzburg. She recalled that “today you can choose among the vaccines AstraZeneca, Comirnaty / Pfizer, Moderna (second dose) and CoronaVac”, and urged people to “do not hesitate”.

More than 2.3 million cases of coronavirus have been identified in Ukraine since the start of the pandemic, according to official figures. 54,360 patients died.
