OREANDA-NEWSThe cessation of the conflict in the Donbass cannot be accompanied by "loss of territories" for Ukraine. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Aleksey Danilov in an interview with the Ukrainian television channel.

“Our president is doing everything necessary to end the war. You know, because this is a very difficult issue for us today in the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. And we need to put an end to this issue”, Danilov said.

The Minsk Agreement is the basis for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass, which involves not only a ceasefire, the withdrawal of arms, an amnesty, the resumption of economic ties, but also a deep constitutional reform in Ukraine, which should result in decentralization of power, taking into account the special status of certain areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Instead, the Ukrainian side, citing the need for security, insists on transferring to it a section of the border with the Russian Federation, although this should happen, according to the Minsk agreements, only after the election.
