OREANDA-NEWS. Yury Slyusar, the general director of the United Aircraft Corporation (Russia), reported that new types of weapons will be developed for fifth-generation fighters Su-57.

According to him, tests of the second stage engine are being held now. “I remind that the aircraft will be able to use a large number of new weapons, some of which have already been created, and some are still being developed. New tests concerning new functions and new tasks will continue,” Slyusar said.

He also noted that in order to improve Su-57, the results of the commission’s investigation about the crash of this type of aircraft in the Khabarovsk Krai will be used. The head of corporation pointed out that during testing new equipment, incidents are always possible, and in this case the most important thing is that the pilot of the crashed Su-57 had survived.
