OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media has banned the introduction of office programs for the iOS and Android operating systems into the registry of Russian software. This is stated in the order of the Ministry, published on the official portal of legal information.

The new order proposes changes to the methodology for confirming compliance of programs from the domestic software registry that exclude the inclusion of office programs designed for iOS and Android devices in the registry. Thus, now office applications that are entered into the registry should work only on the basis of the "mobile operating system, information about which is included in the unified register of Russian software and which is certified in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation on information protection".

To date, the registry of domestic software includes just over 200 office programs, but it is not indicated on which operating systems they work. The unified register of Russian programs for electronic computers and databases (the so-called register of domestic software) is intended to expand the use of domestic IT products in government bodies of the Russian Federation, as well as to provide state support software to copyright holders.
