OREANDA-NEWSPresidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the adviser to the president of the United States, the director for Russia and Eurasia at the National Security Council, Fiona Hill, met in Moscow with the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov. Peskov noted that Hill and Ushakov discussed issues of bilateral relations. At the same time, he said that they did not talk about the meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States.

Earlier, the Russian media reported that a White House delegation headed by Hill had arrived in Moscow. According to the newspaper, she held meetings with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the country's Security Council. 

At the end of June 2018, she came to Moscow as part of a delegation of advisor to the American president on national security, John Bolton. Then they met in the Kremlin with Vladimir Putin, as well as Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Yuri Ushakov. In July last year, Hill was part of the US delegation to the negotiations of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

This is not her first visit to Russia as an adviser to Trump, but previous Hill trips, like the current one, were not advertised - at the request of the American side.
On the eve of the press service of the Russian Security Council reported that consultations were held in Moscow between the Russian Security Council and the US National Security Council. The parties discussed the possibility of further cooperation between Moscow and Washington in the field of security, as well as issues on the international agenda.

To the question whether the topic of a possible meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, was touched upon, the press secretary of the Russian leader replied in the negative.
