OREANDA-NEWS. Polish authorities have signed a contract of purchase 32 F-35 fighter jets from the United States.

According to the Polish military, the deal value is about 4.6 billion dollars. Initially, the US State Department and Congress approved the sale of 32 aircrafts to Poland 6.5 billion dollars worth.

Under the same agreement, the Polish army will receive logistics and training packages. The logistics package includes flight simulators, spare parts, information system for aircraft operation management, equipment needed for running service; the training package includes training for pilots and technical personnel.

It is expected that the Polish Air Force will begin full-fledged operation of F-35 in 2026; the first aircraft under the contract will be produced in 2024.
