OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump has reduced a gap in the number of supporters with Joe Biden, a candidate from the Democratic Party, who is his main rival in the upcoming presidential election. This is evidenced by the data of a sociological survey conducted by the service SSRS at the request of the TV channel CNN.

According to the poll, Biden, who previously nominated Kamala Harris for vice president if he wins the election, remains to be a favourite in the presidential race. Thus, 50 % of respondents expressed their readiness to vote for the Democrats. 46 % of Americans are ready to vote for Trump and incumbent Vice President Mike Pence.

At the same time, the majority of those surveyed (53 %) said they are very enthusiastic about the upcoming presidential election, which is a new record in polls commissioned by CNN since 2003.

In early June, Biden was ahead of the current head of the White House with a score of 55 % against 41 %.
