Armenian Opposition Announced the Creation of the National Salvation Committee
OREANDA-NEWS. The opposition of Armenia, deprecating the ceasefire agreement concluded with Azerbaijan, created the National Salvation Committee of. Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the Supreme Council of the nationalist party Armenian Revolutionary Federation, stated this at a rally in Yerevan.
“Now the main task for all of us is to save Artsakh [The historical name of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. – Ed.]. This requires three steps. The first is to create a Committee for the salvation of the motherland, which we have already done,” the politician said. The second step, according to Saghatelyan, is to demand the resignation of the Armenian government headed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The party’s representative called the third point the salvation of the lands of Nagorno-Karabakh “sold by treachery.”
Oppositionists criticize the conditions of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, which Pashinyan supported. Supporters of opposition political parties are holding a rally in the center of Yerevan. There were clashes with police officers and detentions.
