OREANDA-NEWS. Opposition activists demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday afternoon blocked several central streets of Yerevan. “Nikol is a traitor! Nikol must go!” they chant.

The opposition of Armenia demands the resignation of Pashinyan, since it believes that the joint statement he signed on November 9 with the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, on a complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, is, in fact, nothing but surrender. They also call the head of the government responsible for the economic and social problems in the republic.

Explaining his decision, Pashinyan stated that after the fall of the city of Shusha, the struggle for the Armenian side lost its meaning, since from that moment Yerevan could no longer achieve a turning point in hostilities.

On November 16, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian in his address to the nation called for early parliamentary election, and before that transferring power to the government of national accord.
